# 专注于机器学习：Google 在苏黎世成立了欧洲研发中心

尽管 Google 在欧州尤其是欧盟委员会那里颇[不受待见](http://www.theverge.com/2016/4/25/11490452/why-eu-antitrust-google-android-not-apple)，但是这依然阻挡不了 Google 在欧洲继续前进的脚步。

就在几个小时前，Google 在[官方博客](https://research.googleblog.com/2016/06/announcing-google-research-europe.html)上宣布：

> Google 将在苏黎世办公室的基础之上，成立一个专注于机器学习的欧洲研发中心。

此前瑞士苏黎世已经成为 Google 在美国本土之外最大的工程师办公中心，其主要负责 Knowledge Graph （中文名为：知识图谱）引擎的开发。除此之外，Google 在今年 I/O 大会上发布的 Allo 聊天应用中内置了机器人会话功能，该功能也是由 Google [苏黎世办公室](https://picasaweb.google.com/115256683569729121957/ZurichOfficePhotos)开发的。

新成立的 Google 欧洲研发中心将专注于以下三个领域：

> 机器智能；
> 
> 自然语言处理和理解；
> 
> 机器感知。

Google 在很早之前就已经发力机器学习领域。Google 旗下的 Translate、Photo 搜索、Inbox 智能回复等功能都是建立在机器学习的基础之上，每一天都有数百万人在使用这些功能。当然，这些功能是 Google 来自全世界的研发者共同努力的成果。

至于为何要在欧洲成立研发中心，Google 的官方说法是看中了欧洲一批优质的理工类高校资源，但显然不会是这么简单。 占据统治地位的搜索市场份额让 Google 无法不重视这个庞大的市场；而且 Google 在欧洲还有其他一些前沿业务。

别忘了，今年在人机大战中打败李世乭的 AlphaGo 就是由 Google 位于英国伦敦的 [DeepMind](https://deepmind.com/) 团队开发出来的。
